I'd have to admit that while
working on this model I made the biggest screw-up ever while building a mech!
When I glued the two upper left leg pieces together I incorrectly placed in the
lower left leg. I put it in backwards! I did't realized this until I attempted
to connect this leg to the hip. I was, to say the least, shocked. Who knows
what the heck I was thinking!?? Second gaffe...After getting over it I decided I would fix it. Since I was in no mood to go to the hobby shop and purchase de-bonder I decided to saw it apart with my dremel tool. Baka, Baka, Baka on me. I ended up sawing HUGE gashes (indicated by the red #1 in the pic) down the middle of the thigh peices. After seeing this I was pratically crying, a la Genma! To top it off, the gashes did absolutely nothing but make the problem worse. I stopped mid-way through the cut and simply ripped the bottom leg off (this damage is indicated by the red #2 in the pic). After this I put down the model and didn't begin repair measures until about two weeks later. Initially, I was tempted on getting a new spru piece from Bandai, but decided it would be a challenge to get the model patched up on my own. As illustrated in the pic I've begun filling in the gash with putty. I've learned that when you f*** up this badly not to do anything for awhile or wait until you can clearly think things out. The mishaps will happen but making things worse is not what you want to do. . .stay tuned I hope to be done with this EVA LM soon. |
